Some of the previous posts on this Blog ( SEBI prohibits issue of shares with “superior” rights and Shareholders and Their Duties under Indian Law ) have generated pills online without prescription reactions from readers on a significant issue, which is the role that SEBI has recently been playing in altering provisions of basic company law as far as listed companies are concerned. It may be worthwhile to ponder whether this approach by SEBI is appropriate in the overall regulatory set up in India regarding corporate law. Historically, the Companies Act, 1956 did not envisage any direct role either for SEBI or its predecessor (the Controller of Capital Issues)

One question that does not seems to have been fully answered in the last few months is whether the Satyam episode is truly an aberration or whether it is just the tip of the iceberg (thereby signalling a systemic problem generally in several Indian companies). The Economic Times has an interesting report on various types of frauds that are practised in Indian companies and the role of various agencies (such as forensic auditors, Buy Ampicillin Online without prescription investigators and the like) in trying to curb fraudulent activity in businesses.

In this past year I have introduced a 5-week Photography School and 5-day Photography Boot Camp, both have been very heavily attended and are yielding great successes.   There have however been request for a shorter format, from those people who have had a problem committing 5 days or weeks in a row.  I have therefore created an Express Photography Boot Camp that will get all of the essential education into just 2 days. The format for the 2-day Boot Camp includes 2 9-hour days.  What I’ve done is take the first four days classroom sessions and combined them with 2 hands-on sessions.  Each day will consist of 2 3-hour classroom sessions followed by a 3-hour hands-on workshop session.  Lunch and dinner will be provided both days, so we can optimize our time together and continue working through our meals.  The schedule will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

I’ll never forget the time a yoga Amoxil Online teacher looked at me in a pose (it was a variation of Gomukhasana (Cow Face Pose), scowled, shook her head, and announced loudly to the entire class, “I can see we’ve got a LOT to learn!” As former YJ Samadhi and the City blogger Valerie Reiss wrote in her latest post at Beliefnet.com , some yoga teachers are not interested in infusing our practices with warm, fuzzy feelings. And, whether they intend to or not, sometimes they can be just plain ol’ mean. “Have I just been jaded by my old Bikram practice where the teachers often wear their harshness like a badge?,” writes Valerie.

Heather Sims is fundraising for Leonard Cheshire Disability – JustGiving Hi there everyone! I recently visited Leonard Cheshire Disability in Banbury with a group of Japanese students, and was touched by the dedication of the staff there, and the new building that was opened by the Queen providing a lovely environment for the residents to live in is fantastic. I know a couple of people with family members there, and so when this opportunity arose to jump out of a perfectly decent aircraft all in the name of Charity, I thought “why not?!” Places like Agnes Court in Banbury are few and far between, and reliant on funds being raised to keep them going, so as the well known supermarket says – “Every Little Helps”. So, this is the plan …..

SEBI today issued amendments to the SEBI (Disclosure and Investor Protection) Guidelines, 2000 with a view to simplifying the process for a rights issue. Posted by Veena Jayaram, Research Associate with Centre for Micro Finance (CMF) An interesting piece recently appeared in the Wall Street Journal about micro finance spurring credit bubbles in slums. The premise of the article by Ketaki Ghokale was primarily based on data from Ramanagaram, a small town in Karnataka. It basically highlights the impact of over-lending by the MFIs, citing that it leads to “social tensions” and fuels a cycle of indebtedness (this is further discussed in another article on pressures of group borrowing by the same author).

There I was sitting in the waiting room of the test centre with some other driving school instructors having a chat, our clients had not long ago departed Cipro with the DSA examiners to the car park to begin the 40 minutes of the practical assessment. In walked a man who was more than 5 minutes late for the driving test , we adviced him to ring the bell knowing fully well that he was not going out on this ocassion with the examiner who was probably having a cup of tea while filling out the necessary paperwork

(The following column by Somasekhar Sundaresan appeared in today’s Business Standard) Newspapers have recently reported that a proposal has been mooted in government to convert the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) into a “Financial Services Appellate Tribunal” to hear grievances against orders passed by various sub-sectoral regulators. Currently, the SAT hears appeals only against orders passed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (‘SEBI’). India has not opted for a single integrated regulatory Buy Cipro approach unlike the United Kingdom, which has the Financial Services Authority as the sole regulator.
