Oregon Music University

The best Oregon Music University might be located in the tiny town of Monmouth, Oregon.  Originally a “teaching” college, WOU has expanded over the last century to excel in many areas – for example, offering one of the best Oregon music schools . What make’s Western Oregon University ’s music department unique is the high caliber of staff, coupled with small class sizes and dedication to individual success.  At many music universities , performance opportunities may be rare if you’re not the top student in your instrument.  At WOU, virtually anyone who works hard will get their time in the spotlight – not so much as a “spotlight” of fame, but as part of the core training process. Why should ‘first chair’ get all the solo opportunities?  What if you study hard, practice hard, but are 3 rd chair?  Wouldn’t it make sense to at least get a shot at a solo

Ken Steacy To Join Max the Mutt Sequential Arts Faculty!

After a surprise visit to Max the Mutt, to our delight Ken Steacy announced that he is very impressed with the quality of art work our students are producing and would be very interested in teaching here! The timing couldn’t have been better. Rob Walton has had to withdraw as an instructor for this semester, and Ken, a highly respected Canadian professional comic book artist, is the ideal person to instruct Cinematic Storytelling! Welcome to the Max the Mutt community, Ken, or as you refer to us, “the kennel.” Ken has written and illustrated the exploits of practically every popular character you could name, including Astro Boy, Harry Potter, Batman, Superman, Spider-man, and the X-Men. His four major works in print are “The Sacred and The Profane” ( co-authored by Dean Motter), “Night and The Enemy,” (stories by Harlan Ellison), “Megapowers (written by physicist Jack Weyland), and “Tempus Fugitive.” He has also produced, directed and illustrated an interactive edutainment CD Rom series for kids ,”Adventures of Victor Vector & Yondo,” He has worked for many years with Lucasfilm, producing stories and computer rendered illustrations for Star Wars books and prints, and has collaborated on numerous occasions with author Doug Coupland

The students will choose one artifact to analyze

Oregon Voice Lessons

College voice lessons can be intimidating at many Oregon universities .  When searching for voice lessons in Oregon , you will find hundreds of private vocal instructors with excellent studios.  However, if you want a music degree in Oregon , then the list of top quality colleges for voice lessons becomes more limited. Step 1: Find an Oregon voice teacher that you can relate with.  It makes no sense to spend months or years working with someone you don’t like, not matter how “good they are”…  Everyone is different… Step 2: Make sure your vocal studies are with someone who believes in you and understands your message or gift in singing.  You may not be their star student, but you have a unique vocal gift to offer the world and if your vocal instructor doesn’t “get it” or “get you” then you could be heading down the wrong path. Step 3: Okay, all of these thus far are about the right instructor – make sure your singing teacher has time for you.  They may “get you” and be a good fit, but if they’re overloaded with 40 other students, you may not get the attention you need.  Many part time voice teachers may only have 5-10 students, and while they may not have the breadth of experience, they may be able to give you the extra attention you need

Oregon Music School

Going to music school in Oregon is fun and exciting.  The first step is finding the right Oregon music school so that you can get the music degree you want, plus all the performance experience you desire. The best Oregon music department might be big, or small depending on your preferences.  Do you like to get lost in huge crowds of other students and not be noticed?  If so, you don’t want to go to Western Oregon University… probably best to head to U of O or PSU for that. But, if you prefer and Oregon music school that’s small, yet powerful, with small class sizes, lots of individual attention and virtually unlimited performances opportunities – there’s probably only one good choice for your Oregon music degree – WOU.
